The Perfect Blowdry… and how to keep it…
Disclaimer: My blog posts contain affiliate links, this means that at no extra cost to you, I may receive commission on some products mentioned in my blog. I only mention products I genuinely support and love so you can be confident I am only recommending products that have been tried and tested by me or my clients.
You can look, but don't touch…
Touch your hair as little as possible. By touching, running your fingers through and twiddling your hair you are making it greasy, frizzy and flat. If you feel the need to reactivate some of that volume just before you go out, lean your head right back, clutch the hair loosely at the scalp and almost pinch it, lift and add some light hold spray around an arms length away.
Silk Sheets…?
A perfect excuse to buy silk sheets. Friction from cotton can disrupt the cuticle layer, leading to frizz, breakage, sleep crease, and dry strands. Silk doesn't absorb or pull moisture from your hair the way traditional cotton pillowcases do, leaving hair hydrated and frizz-free. The fibres in silk keep the hair smooth and stop any frizz while you sleep. Silk is a fresh material so doesn’t mess the hair up as much as other materials plus it feels divine while you snooze.
Boar Is Your Best Friend…
Invest in a boar bristle brush. These brushes prevent frizz and static. Keeping the hair under control smooth through the hair every morning. In large sections (around 4) run your brush through each section teasing it back into shape with your hands as you go. Give a light shake along with a tiny amount of spray and you are good to go.
I LOVE YS Park – G Series Curl Shine – Styler Brushes, Japanese made, they are unreal. Pricey but if you look after them they’ll look after your hair for life!
Keep The Curl…
No matter how amazing the blow-dry your curls aren’t going to last forever, especially if your hair is naturally finer or straight. Get a large wand curler, I LOVE Molly Mae X BeautyWorks Curl Kit.
Again take larger sections, curl with the wand and shake it out.
Being a girl is certainly hard work (eye roll), but theres no better feeling than going out and feeling fabulous all week long!
