Your wedding is booked, you have insane amounts of things to prepare, the way your going to look and feel on the biggest day of your life seems like the last thing on your mind right now but preparing in advance can stop a lot of inconveniences popping up and spoiling the way you feel when it matters most.

Keep that hair growin’

Obviously we only want hair growth in two places, our heads and our brows. Around 6 months before your big day its important for your hair growth to be at the top of its game. Maintaining healthy hair growth and scalp will make it easier to achieve the hair look your wanting. I recommend a specialised hair growth supplement in the form of HairBurst. These gorgeous hair dummies taken daily will improve the stimulation of hair growth and not only add abundance to the hair but overall create healthier hair in time.

Keep your skin fresh…

So there’s only so much make up you can put on the skin, the key to fresh glowing skin is to look after it.. consistently.. Id recommend start around 6 months before your wedding so you can get into an amazing routine and find what works and what doesn’t. I feel as a make up artist working with 100s of ladies of all ages and skin types I find those with the clearest skin are the ladies who keep it simple. I could list a million (literally) products for you to put on and you could spend 2 hours a day massaging ( in upstokes obviously) and applying layer after layer of product but lets face it, who has got time for that? Like everything I like to keep it simple and realistic. Of course if you have more serious skin conditions like eczema or acne, this needs to be treated by a dermatologist and medical advice should be sought. I think a lovely skin cleanser and moisturiser could be your routine as this is simple but removes any dirt and make up from, the skin and keeps it moisturised. If your feeling boujee why not try an Amethyst skin roller to remove puffiness and toxins from the skin…

Check the condition of your hair…

I would say this is one of the most important things to prepare and get as best as you can ready for your wedding day. Hair is a woman’s crown, literally and can make or break the whole look. The way I see it spending sooo much on a wedding dress then not making the most of your hair is just pointless as the the look goes hand in hand and each compliment each other. The hair, make up and Dres should work flawlessly together and not be too fussy so please bare this in mind when thinking about frills, flowers and plaits..

Amazing hair styles start with getting the hair into fantastic condition, if its damaged, get it cut, if its over processed seek professional advice from your hairdresser. The haircut is also paramount when it comes to styling, the weight has to balance correctly, if not it can cause the hair to drop and not hold.

I have designed and developed InHerKit Perfect Haircare, this is where you can distinguish what your hair type is and find the best products that have been tried and tested by me and my clients.

Make a make up goody bag…

Preparation is key, and so is being organised. Its fun to make little make up top up kits and even hangover kits for the next day for you and your bridesmaids.

A make up goody bag can consist of all your favourite make up and items that will give you a refresh throughout the day.

  • Lipstick/Lip Gloss

  • Perfume

  • Setting Spray

  • Eyelash glue (just in case)

  • Mascara (waterproof)

Get those brows right..

The brows frame the face and if too dark or too light can have a huge impact on how you look, especially on photos. Id recommend getting them done around 1 week before your wedding day, this gives them time to fade and settle. A lot of clients in general ask me on advice for eyebrows and most ladies I speak to are not happy with the texture, the colour or usually the lack of them, thanks to shaving them off in the 90s!

Theres so many techniques around that claim to be better than others, this can include, micro blading, laminating, tinting, threading, its overwhelming but I spoke to Poppy Ellis, Eyebrow Queen, who works with you on the run up to your wedding nd going through exactly what you need. You can find her on Instagram @poppyellisbrows

I recommend to my brides to get them done around 10 weeks before your wedding day! This allows week on week for them to change and settle and for you to figure out the timing of when they feel best. I also organise a lash trial around 2 weeks before, this can be for a lash lift and even applying lashes...
